Madam Speaker: A Behind-the-Scenes Look at the U.S. Speaker of the House (May 13–May 19, 2019)

This week, the Speaker and House Democrats made history by passing the Equality Act to protect LGBTQ people from discrimination in housing, public accommodations, the workplace, and all places. On Sunday, the Speaker received the historic John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Award for her work to pass the Affordable Care Act and protect families’ health care. And also this week, the Speaker welcomed Salesforce Founder Marc Benioff and police officers and law enforcement heroes from across the country to honor their service and sacrifice for the National Peace Officers Memorial.
