This week, House Democrats proudly passed the first increase in the federal minimum wage in over a decade, an opportunity to help eliminate the wage gap and to make sure American working families make ends meet. Speaker Pelosi also met with University of Chicago Institute of Politics students led by Senior Fellow David Axelrod, talked to an international group of religious leaders and activists about Democrats’ continued global leadership efforts to advance religious freedom and welcomed the French Ambassador to the U.S., Philippe Etienne.

Take a look at this week’s behind-the-scenes photos:

House Democrats passed the first increase in the federal minimum wage in over a decade to help the millions of American families who work full-time and year-round yet don’t make enough money to provide for their families. Now, it’s up to Senate Republicans and the President to make it law. July 18, 2019 (Photo by Julio Obscura)
