The second week of session in Congress has signaled a new direction for our country. Speaker Pelosi had a busy week at the U.S. Capitol, from signing legislation guaranteeing back pay for furloughed federal employees and responding to the Presidential Address on the #TrumpShutdown to introducing #HR8, the Bipartisan Background Checks Act of 2019, and even receiving an unusual gift of over 10,000 roses to her personal office.
