On Tuesday morning, Madam Speaker joined Representative Eric Swalwell in a meeting with Florin Cîțu, President of the Romanian Senate. Soon after, she spoke at the lying-in-state ceremony for Dean of the House Don Young, the longest-serving Republican in the House’s history.

In the afternoon, Madam Speaker attended President Biden’s signing ceremony for the Emmett Till Antilynching Act. That evening, she and other Members of Congress held a meeting with Ukrainian Ambassador Oksana Markarova and women Members of the Ukrainian Parliament to discuss the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Madam Speaker then met with Mickey Levy, Speaker of the Israeli Knesset.

On Wednesday morning, Madam Speaker welcomed West Point cadets to the Capitol, discussing Congress’ role in advancing our national security and sharing some of the lessons learned during her time in office. Later, she welcomed Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong of Singapore for a bipartisan leadership meeting. On Thursday, Madam Speaker held her weekly press conference, where she discussed key legislation passed by the House this week, including the Affordable Insulin Now Act and the MORE Act.
