Madam Speaker: A Behind-the-Scenes Look at the U.S. Speaker of the House

(October 24–30)

On Tuesday, Madam Speaker welcomed His All-Holiness Patriarch Bartholomew, Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople of the Eastern Orthodox Church, back to the United States Capitol to offer a blessing for the Congress. That evening, Madam Speaker joined the Bipartisan Women’s Caucus for a group photo on the United States Capitol steps for Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Thursday morning, Madam Speaker welcomed President Biden back to the United States Capitol to continue working to advance the Build Back Better agenda to create jobs, cut taxes and lower costs for America’s hard-working families. Later that day, Madam Speaker hosted her weekly press conference at the Capitol Visitor Center.
