“The Climate Crisis is a security issue. We see this with rising sea levels, encroachment of deserts, thermal management of the planet, drying up of rivers — and more. And as much as it is a security issue, it is also a moral issue: to pass the plan onto future generations in a responsible way. It would be a dereliction of duty to the planet and its inheritors to build infrastructure that does not address this crisis.”

“My best wishes to Speaker Oshima as he transitions to retirement after 37 distinguished years of service.”

“What’s happening? Is this about the San Francisco Giants winning the most games ever? I don’t think so. As you know, we had a full agenda this week that involved keeping government open. We hope that this can be a strongly bipartisan bill because it keeps vital services running, protects up to hundreds of thousands of workers from shutdowns.”
“With this Continuing Resolution, we not only keep government open, keep checks flowing to our veterans and Social Security recipients and the rest, but it’s also about science at the National Institutes of Health, the education of our children, the protecting of our environment and more.”
