Take a look at this week’s behind-the-scenes content:

March 28

“Pierre L’Enfant belongs in the Capitol among the many heroes of our history, as a veteran of the Revolutionary War, architect of our stunning capital city; and a testament to this truth: immigrants make America more American.”

March 1

“We all salute and pray for the people of Ukraine, and, again, we are united in our respect and work and cooperation with the European Union, NATO and the G7.”
“The Congress remains unwavering and resolute in our bipartisan support for the people of Ukraine. We are committed to providing humanitarian and security assistance to Ukraine, as Russia wages its unprovoked and premeditated war.”
Madam Speaker: A Behind-the-Scenes Look at the U.S. Speaker of the House
“Together, President Biden and Democrats are focused on Building a Better America … making more goods in America, lowering the everyday costs of energy, child care, prescription drugs and more, bolstering competition to deliver better prices for consumers, and creating more good-paying union jobs across the country.”

March 2

“Just as the military pledges to leave no soldier behind on the battlefield, we must leave no veteran behind when they return home. The Honoring Our PACT Act finally, faithfully fulfills that pledge by easing access to VA health care for millions of veterans potentially exposed to toxins causing rare cancers, COPD and other debilitating diseases.”
Madam Speaker: A Behind-the-Scenes Look at the U.S. Speaker of the House
“The House has sent a clear signal to survivors that they deserve the ability to seek justice and make their voices heard.”

March 3

“For the Republicans to go to the Floor and say the veterans really don’t want this help with their [health] because it’s going to cost money. [Republicans] are more concerned about the budget than they are about their health.”
“The 6888th Battalion has inspired generations of Americans. Battling prejudice and the hardships of war alike, the unit sorted millions of pieces of mail to ensure that Servicemembers received letters from their loved ones. After decades of little recognition, this act will properly recognize the 6888th’s heroism.”
