Madam Speaker: A Behind-the-Scenes Look at the U.S. Speaker of the House

(October 31 — November 6)

On Tuesday, Madam Speaker joined the Congressional Hispanic Caucus and other Members of Congress for an event highlighting Día de Los Muertos, in remembrance of frontline and essential workers who lost their lives to the COVID-19 pandemic. On Wednesday, Madam Speaker welcomed Roberto Fico, President of the Italian Chamber of Deputies, to the United States Capitol ahead of a bipartisan meeting. Thursday, she hosted her weekly press conference at the Capitol Visitor Center and later conducted a ceremonial swearing-in of Congresswoman Shontel Brown (OH-11) and Congressman Mike Carey (OH-15). Friday, Madam Speaker, Majority Leader Steny Hoyer and Majority Whip James Clyburn hosted a press conference ahead of the passage of the Bipartisan Infrastructure bill, which delivers a once-in-century investment in rebuilding our nation’s infrastructure while creating millions of new good-paying jobs.
