Madam Speaker: A Behind-the-Scenes Look at the U.S. Speaker of the House

This week, Speaker Pelosi traveled to Washington State and participated in events in San Francisco in her latest efforts to fight for the American people. On Wednesday, Speaker Pelosi joined Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland and Chairman Derek Kilmer for a press event highlighting the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
On Thursday, she joined San Francisco Mayor London Breed, Supervisor Hillary Ronen, TNDC CEO Maurilio León, MEDA CEO Luis Granados, community leaders and residents for the grand opening of Casa Adelante, an affordable housing development that is supporting Mission District families and serving as an anchor for the community. Speaker Pelosi next attended the unveiling of a statue honoring the late Mayor Ed Lee at Chase Center, who was the driving force to build a world-class arena in Mission Bay and bring the Warriors home to San Francisco. Later, Speaker Pelosi joined Healing 4 Our Families and Our Nation’s 10th Annual Mother’s Day Luncheon to support women who have lost loved ones to the gun violence epidemic.
