“Tuesday was an historic day in the Congress of United States, when House Democrats came together to advance President Biden’s Build Back Better agenda by adopting the budget resolution, advancing the bipartisan infrastructure bill and passing H.R. 4, the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.”
“The late John Lewis, often referred to as the conscience of the Congress, said the vote is ‘the most powerful non-violent tool we have in a democracy.’ In America, the right to vote must never, ever be compromised. Congresswoman Terri Sewell’s district is full of history, but she is making progress in addition to honoring that history. Proud to stand with her and House Democrats in fighting For The People.”

“Despite progress, women across the nation still face barriers to full equality: from shameful pay disparities to the unfair economic impacts of the pandemic to the brazen assault on the right to vote. As we celebrate and honor the legacy of trailblazing suffragists, we have to protect their legacy, the vote, from suppression and nullification. When women succeed, America succeeds.”
“I came to Congress to ensure no child would ever go to sleep hungry. The Poor People’s Campaign is a campaign about the children. Thanks to President Biden, we have a transformative moment For The Children and to Build Back Better for the families of America.”

“This is all about empowering women so that their families are cared for, that their children are cared for, so that we can have women in the workplace making the difference. ‘Children learning, families earning — parents earning.’ That’s our motto in all of this.”
