Following the Trump Administration’s cruel and immoral decision to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, we met with DREAMers, students, foreign ministers and immigration and civil rights organizations in order to protect these patriotic young people.

Next week, we will file a discharge petition to bring the DREAM Act to a swift vote, so that we can formally recognize the place these young Americans already hold in our country.

“When I was younger, my dream was to simply appear on C-SPAN”: with a laugh, Nadeam Elshami thanked friends and colleagues during his farewell reception marking 25 years of service to the House of Representatives and ten years working for the Leader. Elshami was crucial in battles to protect the Affordable Care Act, Wall Street Reform and other landmark progress for working families. September 13, 2017 (Photo by Julio Obscura)
